Oil & Gas Title Attorney (TX)

Job type: Full-time

Office location: Houston, Texas

Kiefaber & Oliva LLP is seeking an oil and gas title attorney for its Houston office. Attorney candidates must be licensed to practice in Texas and have 1 to 5 years of prior oil and gas title examination experience or land title experience. The attorney will prepare oil and gas title opinions, assist with oil and gas transactions, oil and gas disputes, and will have opportunities for professional growth.

Candidates must include a cover letter describing their oil and gas experience in Texas and any jurisdictions other than Texas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review real property title documents and oil and gas related agreements
  • Identify and analyze title issues within the chain of title
  • Calculate ownership of surface, mineral, royalty and working interest owners
  • Draft title opinions advising clients of ownership and title issues
  • Draft documents relating to oil and gas transactions and property conveyances and curative

Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed attorney in good standing in the State of Texas
  • Familiarity with various title and oil and gas related documents
  • Familiarity with various mineral interests and their effect on title
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Attorney candidates must be licensed to practice in Ohio and have 1 to 5 years of prior oil and gas title examination experience or land title experience. The attorney will prepare oil and gas title opinions, assist with oil and gas transactions, oil and gas disputes, and will have opportunities for professional growth.

Candidates must include a cover letter describing their oil and gas experience and experience in any jurisdictions other than Ohio.
