OLIVA GIBBS LLP OPENS LOUISIANA OFFICE, WELCOMES KATE BAILEY LABUE

HOUSTON, TEXAS – September 12, 2022

Oliva Gibbs is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Lafayette, Louisiana and the addition of Kate Labue. Kate is the firm’s third attorney resident in Louisiana. Gabe Ackal and James (Rusty) McCay joined the firm earlier this summer in Lafayette and Baton Rouge respectively.

Kate is an accomplished attorney and former nonprofit executive director. She focuses on upstream energy work, including corporate transactions, complex title and survey work and regulatory matters. Kate currently serves as the Lafayette Parish School Board Representative for District 7 and is actively involved with numerous nonprofit organizations in and around Acadiana, including Junior League of Lafayette, Boys & Girls Clubs and Catholic Charities of Acadiana. She is a graduate of LSU Law School and served as a law clerk to the late Honorable James J. Brady for the Middle District of Louisiana.

The Lafayette location is the fourth office for the firm, further expanding transactional, regulatory and title services for clients with business interests in Louisiana. Oliva Gibbs now has six attorneys focused specifically on Louisiana energy work.
